We are seeking to appoint a Garden Waste Operative to join the Environmental Services Division and specifically the Council's new Garden Waste collection service.
You will carry out Garden Waste collections from April to November each year and in the remaining months you will work on other Environmental Services activities as specified in the job description throughout the Borough of Darlington, ensuring that a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.
You should have an awareness of refuse/recycling, garden waste, street cleansing, grounds maintenance or related services and have the ability to work successfully as part of a team.
The Garden Waste Service operates Tuesday to Friday from 7.00am to 4.45pm, with occasional Monday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday working. When working in other Environmental Services areas, the working days/times will vary, falling between 6.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Sunday.
