We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced HLTA to support the work of our Believe provision. The focus of the role is to support the progress of learners with SEMH needs, who struggle to cope with a mainstream timetable, to make good academic progress and modify their behaviour enabling them to return to mainstream classes.

Kepier is a good school with many outstanding features as described in our recent Ofsted inspection. We are looking forward to a new school build starting later this year and have a progressive vision for the future of the school.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the education system; particular experience of working with learners with behavioural difficulties is essential. This will encompass understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to deliver personalised learning programmes to learners. Experience of SEMH, especially within a school setting is essential.

The candidate must have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate patience and empathy in order to deal appropriately with sensitive or difficult situations with parents/carers.

The environment in which the role operates will demand that the post holder has the initiative and confidence to make decisions and solve problems themselves, but is able to effectively judge when to make decisions, consult with others or their line manager.

The successful candidate must be able to manage their own time, organising and prioritising their workload to deal effectively with the busy environment in which the role is set. The post holder must be able to manage changing circumstances and proactively develop new ideas.

The ability to analyse, understand and interpret relevant information and data is essential.

Application form, job description and person specification are available on-line at www.kepier.com.
Please also see Supporting documents above to download an application pack from this page.

Applications should be returned to Christine Stobbart, PA to the Principal email to c.stobbart@kepier.com, no later than 12 noon on Monday 05 December 2016. Please note applications can only be accepted on the Kepier application form available on-line; applications by CV only will not be accepted. Interviews will take place Thursday 12 December.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Kepier Safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with Sunderland Local Safeguarding Board Procedures.

Applicants who have not been contacted within 2 weeks of the closing date should assume they have been unsuccessful.
