HLTA – SEMH 37 hours per week Term Time (38 weeks) NJC Scale 6 Point range 22 – 25 + SEN Allowance (£20,456 - £22,434) (Point 22 Pro Rata equates to £17,835) We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced HLTA to support the work of our Believe provision. The focus of the role is to support the progress of learners with SEMH needs, who struggle to cope with a mainstream timetable, to make good academic progress and modify their behaviour enabling them to return to mainstream classes. Kepier is a good school with many outstanding features as described in our recent Ofsted inspection. We are looking forward to a new school build starting later this year and have a progressive vision for the future of the school. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the education system; particular experience of working with learners with behavioural difficulties is essential. This will encompass understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to deliver personalised learning programmes to learners. Experience of SEMH, especially within a school setting is essential. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate patience and empathy in order to deal appropriately with sensitive or difficult situations with parents/carers. The environment in which the role operates will demand that the post holder has the initiative and confidence to make decisions and solve problems themselves, but is able to effectively judge when to make decisions, consult with others or their line manager. The successful candidate must be able to manage their own time, organising and prioritising their workload to deal effectively with the busy environment in which the role is set. The post holder must be able to manage changing circumstances and proactively develop new ideas. The ability to analyse, understand and interpret relevant information and data is essential.
