HR Welfare Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s Human Resources Team.
As a HR Welfare Officer you will work within the Health and Wellbeing Team providing advice, guidance and support to managers in relation to the management of sickness absence, ensuring that all cases are dealt with in accordance with the Council’s Attendance Management Policy. You will also be required to provide assistance with a number of health surveillance programmes and the delivery of health promotion events, as well as liaising as necessary with occupational health and physiotherapy services, and the Staff Support Network.
This post would provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain experience within Human Resources, ideally the successful candidate will have some previous human resources experience and a basic understanding of employment and equality legislation, as well as the ability to interpret policies and procedures. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, together with and a good understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
