Further Information
Following the appointment of the current headteacher to a new post, a rare opportunity has arisen in Darlington. The Local Authority and Management Committee are seeking a Head Teacher to pick up the reigns and continue to develop and influence alternative education in the borough.

Rise Carr College, rated GOOD by Ofsted in October 2013, benefits from being at the cutting edge in terms of its thinking around alternative provision and how it manages students requiring placement out of mainstream school.

Students are referred via a secondary panel and each case is reviewed individually. Our main aim is to help equip students with the necessary skills and confidence to return to mainstream education or specialist providers. Rise Carr College delivers high quality, educational packages and interventions in the town.

Rise Carr College also includes Clifton House, a small facility based offsite for Year 7 & 8 pupils requiring additional support, as well as the line management of the successful Home Hospital Teaching Service. The Head Teacher will also take a leading role across the LA in supporting the needs of vulnerable pupils.

We warmly welcome and encourage all applicants to visit our College. For more information and an informal discussion please contact Emma Hickerson, Headteacher on (01325) 348600.

Further information, including an application pack, is available from Emma Duffy at Avec Partnership Ltd, Tel 01325 281480 or email emma.duffy@avec-partnership.com.

Completed applications should be returned for the attention of Emma Duffy at 21 Parsons Court, Welbury Way, Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, DL5 6ZE or via email to emma.duffy@avec-partnership.com.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
