St. Benedict’s services the Catholic Community, and wider community, of the whole town of Redcar. St. Benedict’s is a happy, vibrant, 2 form entry primary academy which became part of the Nicholas Postgate Academy Trust in September 2015 and shares a site with Sacred Heart Secondary Catholic Voluntary Academy. The school buildings were completed in 2006 and are modern and attractive with outstanding facilities.
The school is committed to a high degree of corporate working with all stakeholders contributing to the life of the school. The school ethos is welcoming with the belief of ‘Together with God we Love, Learn and Grow’.

This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future of our school. We need a headteacher who is visible and approachable, and who has the capacity to develop our strengths as well motivate, challenge and support when it‘s required. Your proven ability to both plan and implement change will be essential to your success, as will your determination to drive school improvement and further develop a culture that is aspirational, compassionate and held in high regard by all of the community.

A proven leader, you must possess a clear vision for Catholic education and the ability to influence and inspire others. Proactive in your approach, you must have the capacity to develop and strengthen our many existing partnerships aimed at supporting school improvement and the effective use of resources.
The school's focus, backed by staff and governors, is on achieving excellent teaching and learning, ensuring that our young people become confident and responsible adults who make a positive contribution to society.

Redcar is a large, attractive town located where the North York Moors meet the North East Yorkshire coastline. Redcar has a very proud history as a fishing community, holiday resort and steel town but is now predominantly a residential area with a wide range and mix of styles and types of housing. Redcar has good communication links with the whole of the Tees Valley and beyond and there are many attractive and interesting places in the area for making a home or for enjoying during times of leisure.

We very much welcome school visits and, if you’d like the opportunity to come along, please contact Debbie Smith, School Business Manager on 01642 495770.
