Further Information
As part of the Tees Valley, Redcar and Cleveland, together with our neighbouring boroughs, will be bidding to become the City of Culture 2025. We need a visionary leader with a track record of delivery to ensure that we play a full and successful part in this ambitious undertaking.

We are famous for our world class industry, but that is just part of our story. With miles of heritage coastline, the North York Moors National Park and an enviable range of events and attractions, our cultural and tourism offer is established but ripe for further development.

We need to increase participation, strengthen the capacity of our cultural sector, harness local talent and build on our varied events programmes.

In 2020, Redcar will host the Tour de Yorkshire. The successful applicant will be at the forefront of promoting this mass participation event. This is just one of the opportunities to make Redcar and Cleveland a must-see visitor attraction and build on the pride our residents feel in the area.

We are looking for someone with creativity, passion and the ability to forge fruitful partnerships to help turn this vision into a reality.

For an informal discussion please contact Mark Adams, Assistant Director Communities and Health on 01642 444208 or email mark.adams@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk
