Middlesbrough Council is the administering authority for the Teesside Pension Fund, a Local Government Pension Fund with £4 billion of investment assets, 70,000 scheme members and over 150 scheme employers.
The Fund requires a highly motivated individual to lead the Fund into an exciting new phase, leading a team to manage the whole Fund following pooling of investment assets with the Fund’s new pooling partner (Border to Coast pension Partnership Ltd. - BCPP).
This is a key role with a wide range of responsibilities in this area and corporately including:
• providing effective arrangement for the governance, investments and administration of the Teesside Pension Fund
• providing strategic advice to the Teesside Pension Fund Committee and Teesside Pension Board
• managing the relationships with the Fund’s external service providers, including BCPP (investments) and Kier Pensions Unit (pension administration)
• contributing towards the effective management of the Council/Directorate and the achievement of the Council/Directorate’s corporate aims, and support the development and implementation of corporate projects and initiatives
The post holder will have substantial knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and experience in a role at a senior level.
