About the Team
Our People and Capability Team are a diverse team of HR professionals who provide critical support to the department across a number of areas. We provide expert advice to enable the department to achieve its wider aims, delivering everything from day-to-day support to transformational change. We work closely with senior leaders to make sure that our work genuinely supports and makes valuable contributions to the organisation.
You would be part of a small and friendly HR Business Partner and Casework team and as head of casework your will oversee the work of your team who work closely with managers to build their capability and confidence in getting the best out of the staff they manage, in particular when issues arise.
About the Job
In this role, you will:
- Lead employee relations casework within HM Treasury, ensuring that managers are supported with accurate, timely and robust advice. Maximise use of statistical casework data, sharing trends appropriately with SCS.
- Provide expert, up-to-date advice and support to Treasury senior managers on employee relation casework matters. Stay abreast of current and emerging employment legislation and best practice at all times. Liaise with lawyers from Government Legal Department as appropriate.
- Oversee development, implementation, evaluation and communication of disciplinary and attendance management policies and procedures at HM Treasury, ensuring that policies meet departmental needs.
- Project lead the introduction of a new casework management system replacing the out-of-date access database. Exploring and procurement of products to both assist in the management of casework and ensuring accurate record keeping whilst delivering value for money.
- Oversee the provision of workplace adjustments ensuring HMT adopts a best practice approach. Managing and supporting the workplace adjustments manager as appropriate

About You
You will be CIPD qualified level 7 (equivalent experience in field of HR casework), experienced at overseeing a full range of HR casework, HR Policy and workplace adjustment activities, including experience of dealing successfully with situations at senior level and of a confidential and sensitive nature.
