The Occupational Health and Safety Team provide a comprehensive service to the Council on all matters relating to health, safety and welfare.
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual with good communication skills, who is able to work using their own initiative and as part of a team. You
will be based at the Civic Centre and report to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager.
The main duties, under guidance of the Occupational Health and Safety Manager, include: accident/incident investigations, carrying out inspections of premises, audits of safety management systems, conducting fire risk assessments, providing advice to managers, policy/ project work and health and safety training.
This is a career graded post however due to the temporary nature of the post we are seeking a candidate who is qualified as a Technical Member of IOSH - and has one of the following; year one pass of NVQ level 4 in OSH practice; cognate degree; PGD/BSC/QCA accredited level 6 Diploma and have good interpersonal skills.
