A partner school to First Class Supply, based in Sunderland, requires a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to commence in October 2016 for the duration of the autumn term. The role is to work on a part time basis with, supporting small groups and individual SEN learners to improve their Literacy and Numeracy skills.
The school is a larger than average primary school with a two form entry. The environment is caring and calm with clear rules, strong values and high expectations. Children and adults alike are encouraged to try new things and to adopt a positive attitude to everything including behaviour improvement and social success.
To apply for the position you must:
• have the confidence to plan for, work with and assess the progress of children - under the direction of the class teacher
• be able to work independently with the class in addition to 1-1 and small group work
• be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
• be flexible to work at short notice as and when the need arises
• have recent experience in a HLTA role, which has given you an up to date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
• hold a relevant child care or education qualification at Level 4 or above.
