Hartlepool Borough Council has recently secured funding from Big Lottery to support the Promoting Change, Transforming Lives project. This project will be based at Waverley Terrace Allotments (WTA) which commence in January 2016. The project has the following objectives:

1. Increase the number of people with a disability and/or learning difficulty (LDD) or a mental health problem to enter into education, employment, training or volunteering.

2. Support the further development of Waverley Terrace Allotments (WTA) which offers 3.5 acres of land and provide access to horticultural placements, training and therapeutic support for people with a disability and/or a learning difficulty or a mental health problem to access key services and support.

3. Develop WTA into a Social Enterprise by the introduction and implementation of a comprehensive business plan and to develop and support income generation projects to ensure the sustainability of the facility within five years.

The Horticulture Support Worker must be able to travel independently across Hartlepool and the Tees Valley to enable them to promote the project effectively.

The successful candidate should have a range of skills such as organisational and communication, be dedicated, flexible, self-motivated and committed to ensuring that the project is delivered in line with the requirements of the Big Lottery.
