Sunderland City Council is seeking a self-motivated, Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our Hylton Castle Project team to help co-ordinate voluntary activities in support of our project. Hylton Castle is a Grade I Listed 14th Century Gatehouse set in extensive grounds comprising parkland and woodland and including a Scheduled Ancient Monument, an SSSI and a Local Wildlife Site. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and other funders, we’re refurbishing the castle and creating a community run heritage-led learning centre. We’ll be telling the story of the special nature of the castle and the wider site to visitors and learners of all ages.

The future success of this project will rely on the skills and commitment of our volunteers. Co-ordinating volunteers and their activities effectively will be a key role in a small team. If you think you can help then please make an application. Experience of training schemes, heritage sites and /or customer service would be an advantage.
