Our new safeguarding partnership arrangements are developing well, we have a desire to be innovative whilst being efficient in our approach. We are now seeking an independent scrutineer/chair to be part of the next exciting part of our journey.

This is a great opportunity to be part of our newly formed Safeguarding Executive Board, working with the three statutory agencies to progress our plans into full implementation.

About You
We are keen to explore how the new safeguarding arrangements can work differently, and allowing you to bring your innovative and creative thinking.

If you have extensive experience in chairing strategic partnerships, a successful record of work promoting outcomes for children and/or vulnerable adults, along with the required enthusiasm and knowledge that this important role requires, we want to hear from you.

You should have proven experience at a senior level in one or more sectors - social care, criminal justice or health.

You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of local and national safeguarding agendas and of recent developments in social care and health; as well as in associated legislation. You will have the presence and ability to develop trust and respect of the partners, with good communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a three year fixed term contract to be reviewed on an annual basis. You will be required to work 30 days per year, but this may vary.

Please note that the Independent Chair / Scrutineer will perform Office Holder duties and IR35 rules apply to this appointment. Payments will be made through payroll and tax and NI deductions will be made at source via PAYE in line with current HMRC guidelines.
