A number of opportunities have arisen for Joiners within the Capital Team and Voids Team.

The Gateshead Housing Company currently manages approx. 20,000 properties on behalf of Gateshead Council. The team is responsible for the refurbishment and new construction of various schools and public buildings throughout Gateshead.

You will be required to undertake, either individually or as part of a team, all types of joinery and carpentry works both internally and externally to Council properties and other buildings across the borough of Gateshead, ensuring a high standard of work is achieved.

The service is looking for someone with a wide experience in joinery, able to work off their own initiative and as part of a team in a wide ranging work environment, ensuring implementation and compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

The successful applicant will need to have relevant experience in the construction industry, including refurbishment to occupied and empty properties and new build, and will hold as a minimum, NVQ level 2, or a City and Guilds craft certificate in a relevant trade.
