The Council’s in-house Legal Services Team seek to recruit two experienced and knowledgeable contracts and procurement lawyers (one permanent position and one for a two year fixed term contract).

Your main responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and public sector agreements; advising on public procurement law; advising on contractual disputes; providing support and management throughout various procurement processes; assisting with the contractual implications of GDPR and liaising with Senior Officers as appropriate.
A qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practising certificate, you will bring plenty of in-depth knowledge in the areas of Contracts and Procurement. With relevant experience in these areas, you will advise and communicate with in-house clients and colleagues. You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will enable you to carry a substantial workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us to positively develop new areas of practice.
