The Council’s in-house Legal Services Team seek to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable employment lawyer.

You will have experience in advising clients on a full range of employment law issues such as TUPE, discrimination legislation and unfair dismissal as well as litigating such cases in the Employment Tribunal.

Your role will involve delivering tailored advice to tight deadlines and liaising closely with instructing officers with regard to all areas of employment law.

This role offers an opportunity to work at the heart of Local Government and you will join the Corporate and Governance team within Legal Services.
A qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practising certificate, you will bring plenty of in-depth knowledge in the areas of employment. With relevant experience in this area, you will advise and communicate with in-house clients and colleagues.

You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will enable you to carry a substantial workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us to positively develop new areas of practice.
