This key leadership role covers Alternative Provision, Elective Home Education, Children Missing Education, Fair Access and children not in full-time education. You will work closely with schools, alternative providers, families, safeguarding partners and local authority teams to secure high-quality placements, improve outcomes and support successful reintegration wherever possible.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of statutory education duties, exclusion processes and inclusive practice, with the confidence to provide support, advice and professional challenge to schools and partners.

You will lead effective systems, referral pathways, quality assurance and reporting processes, ensuring decisions are timely, evidence-based and focused on children’s welfare and achievement. The role also includes budget oversight, placement monitoring and strategic planning for alternative education provision, including work with external partners such as the Department for Education and Ofsted.
