We are looking for Learning Advisors to join our successful Choosing Pathways team delivering Tees Valley Pathways, a programme part funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.

The programme aims to support young people across the Tees Valley aged 15-29 who are unemployed and/or not in education, employment or training.

Middlesbrough Council is one of the partner providers for the YEI programme. Our delivery programme called "Choosing Pathways" is individualised in terms of the young person's needs, barriers and aspirations. It offers a dedicated Learning Adviser service providing one to one support and mentoring and aims to fast track participants into employment and training.

These posts are a key function within our team providing individual support to unemployed young people engaged on the Youth Employment Initiative.

The 18.5 hours post will be based at our Lingfield Alternative Provision site.

The successful applicants will:

Work directly with unemployed young people aged 15-29 in order to secure employment and training outcomes

Deliver effective Information, Advice and Guidance

Work with employers, training providers and other agencies to remove barriers and identify opportunities for participants.

Promote the programme and the wider services of the Community Learning Service to potential participants and agencies across Middlesbrough and the Tees Valley.

We offer a fun and supportive working environment with a good team ethos. The Community Learning Service was inspected in February 2016 and was rated good with outstanding in two areas including Leadership & Management. These posts offer a real opportunity to make a real difference to young people's lives.

The above posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
