A partner school to First Class Supply, based in South Tyneside, would like to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to start after February half term until Summer 2018. The position will be on a full time basis. You will be supporting a challenging Year 5 class.
This is a small primary school where the leadership team have high ambitions for the pupils and the school. The number of pupils requiring additional support and who are eligible for pupil premium is well above average, however the academy has successfully managed to narrow the gap between disadvantaged pupils and other pupils. Pupils’ behaviour is good, teaching has improved and procedures are now in place which are improving pupils’ performance.
To be successful in this role you must:
- work well as a team and be adaptable to change
- have empathy, tolerance, patience and understanding
- be experienced at working with children with special educational needs
- have a good understanding of the importance of appropriate information sharing and confidentiality in supporting children’s and families well-being
- hold a relevant child care or education qualification at Level 3 or above.
