Duke’s Secondary School is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and hardworking Learning Support Assistant to support the students and teachers throughout the busy academic year. Day to day duties involve helping the students follow class instructions, supporting the teacher with behaviour management, and helping prepare lesson materials.
The ideal candidate will be resilient, organised and able to work both independently and as a part of a team in a busy classroom environment. You will assist the teacher with the delivery of the lesson and help the students engage in activities.
Please note, this role is 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support learners in their access of learning
• Encourage learners to engage in, and participate in learning activities set by the class teacher.
• Establish good relationships with learners, acting as a role model and responding to the needs of each individual child.
• Support the teacher in the management of learner behaviour.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and resources required to meet learning activities and assist learners in their use.
