The Hermitage Academy is looking to appoint a Learning Welfare/Academic Mentor to provide a tailored provision programme addressing the needs of students who require catch-up and restore support across a arrange of subjects. The role will also involve helping students overcome barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour and managing students’ development, learning and well-being. You will act as their advocate around school and support them with their future aspirations beyond school.
In this role, you be contributing to raising achievement and will be working closely the Associate Senior Leader/Director of Achievement for Year 11. The students you will be working with will be in Year 11 and will predominately be boys. You will work with them on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, acting as a listener, advocate, role model, facilitator for learning, encourager and motivator.

You should be able to display good communication skills as you will be interacting with students, staff and parents in a polite and approachable manner and be proactive in supporting the students’ development and encourage them to achieve the best possible results. You must be committed and determined to develop the students with your strong skills set and personal drive.
