The Council’s Environment Health and Licensing Unit is looking for a Licensing Officer to work in our busy Environmental Health and Licensing Section. This is a post which gives a career opportunity in Local Government Licensing.

The successful candidate will deal enforcement matters relating to a number of different licensing functions from alcohol to gambling, taxis to animal welfare, scrap metal dealers to regulated entertainment.

The successful applicant should have knowledge of local authority licensing and the Police and Crime Evidence Act. Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with confrontation. Good computer literacy skills and experience of maintaining accurate and detailed records within computerised databases.

You will be able to operate independently and as part of a team and will need a clean driving licence and the use of a car.

The ability to maintain accuracy, even when working under pressure is essential.
