Life Coach for the Build a Future Fostering Service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified clinical psychologist or child psychotherapist to develop a therapeutic vision for Build a Future, Newcastle City Council’s new fostering service. The service will provide a flexible and therapeutic approach to working with young people who are currently placed in residential services a long way from home or who are on the edge of residential care because of their behaviour as a response to their situation. These are young people who are difficult to engage and who are often in risky and vulnerable situations.
The service will work therapeutically to move children into sustainable foster placements nearer to those people and places that matter to them. The service is linked to the Foster a Future service but is a standalone team consisting of Team Manager, Social Worker, Resource Workers and Life Coach, working with foster carers 24/7 to create stable placements for children in this service.
The role is full time, however we have various flexible working arrangements that may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
If you would like to speak to someone about the role please contact Christine Garner, Build a Future lead practitioner on 0191 2772430.
