Fixed term for 2 years.
This is a new post working within the Active Inclusion Unit, at Newcastle City Council, to contribute to the council’s ambition to be a City of Sanctuary by providing support, advice and guidance to asylum seekers and refugees to facilitate transition through the asylum process.
The post holder will support the ‘move on’ process for those granted refugee status and offer advice and signposting for those receiving a negative decision on their asylum claim.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage a case load of clients, offering appropriate advice and guidance depending on their circumstances.
You will need current knowledge and understanding of the UK asylum system and the support needs of people within the asylum process. The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-agency sector is essential.
