Further Information
Do you know we need more foster carers to help school age children on a short and long term basis?

Do you know we need parents for children aged on and upwards who are waiting to be adopted?

Would you like to work with children and young people?
Do you have a spare room?
Looking for a new role that comes with great support and training?

Long term foster carers work with children who need to stay with a family until they fly the nest.

The children are generally aged between 7 and 14 years of age when they first come to stay with you. They may stay with you until they are 16 or beyond their 18th birthday, where you support them with further education or employment training.

In circumstances where children can’t live with their birth family, long term foster care allows children to become part of a family - whether that is a single person household, or a larger family group.

The basic fee is payable 52 weeks of the year and the fostering allowance is payable in addition to the fee when you have a child in placement.

Our foster carers benefit from:
• 24 / 7 support from dedicated teams
• Generous allowances (plus individual enhancements) paid for each child
• Competitive regular weekly incomes
• Pre-approval training
• Guidance on scheme options
• An ongoing free training programme including accredited courses
• Extensive support network of foster carers and other professionals
