Are you looking for a totally new and unique opportunity? The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) South Tees is a partnership between Middlesbrough Council, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Teesside University.

The South Tees HDRC is one of the 30 that the NIHR has funded in 2022 and 2023, requiring the team collaborate locally and nationally. The vision for HDRC South Tees is to become an international beacon for research and innovation in tackling poor health outcomes and wellbeing within our communities.

The objectives are to create a research infrastructure and a culture of research evidence use in decision making, within both councils. Working with the rest of the HDRC team, the Making Research Happen Manager will deliver high quality management support to the Head of Knowledge and Innovative to enable the development of the HDRC, leading to research infrastructure and activity becoming embedded in the foundations and culture in Middlesbrough Council and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

The Making Research Happen Manager will be employed by Middlesbrough Council.

Responsibilities will include - to explore an establish organisational wide policies and procedures relating to research in both local authorities.

Knowledge and Expertise – by the nature of the role, the postholder will require strong technical knowledge and expertise around research processes, governance, and other issues (along with other skills described in the job description and person specification).
