An opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Executive to work within the Marketing & Communications team at Visit County Durham.

Visit County Durham works with tourism businesses and partners, both locally and nationally, to grow the county’s visitor economy. We also coordinate the promotion of the county nationally as a great place to live, work, visit, study and invest. We perform the roles of destination management, destination marketing and place marketing.

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of VCD’s digital marketing activity covering a range of marketing disciplines including campaigns, social media and CRM activity in order to communicate the county’s offer to a wide range audience at regional, national and international level. This will be done by:-

• Developing and delivering the social media and content strategy for the destination
• Acting as marketing expert on new communication channels including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube and emerging online channels in the B2B and B2C arena
• Working closely with other team members to ensure the county’s web presence supports the digital marketing function and that media relations work is mutually supported and fully integrated
• Working collaboratively with partner destinations and the business community to gain maximum benefit from digital marketing activity so it benefits the county

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, have experience in a marketing role that involves two or more areas including integrated campaigns, e-marketing, social media, CRM, data management and web editing. It’s essential that candidates have experience of planning and implementing SEO/PPC campaigns, can build good working relationships with suppliers and having experience of using CRM systems.

Applicants should have excellent project management skills, strong IT skills, and excellent communication skills.
