Further Information
Are you a story teller with a passion for social media?

The days of big budget billboard and television adverts are, thankfully, far behind us. To get people interested in visiting North East Jobs and, in a wider context, working in the public sector we need to use the platforms available in new media. This is where your role comes in.

Our social media presence is already very active but has massive potential to grow. At present usage is mostly one way, pushing out information and job listings but not interacting and growing our audience as much as we could.

Essentially, we need a motivated, highly articulate and focused individual to help us tell the story of working in Local Government and take the audience of the North East Jobs platform to the next level.

You will be responsible for creating and promoting content across a range of sites and platforms to generate new visitors and jobseekers to North East Jobs.

On a daily basis you could be tracking down ideal candidates for an IT position on forums, twitter, etc., or pushing a newly written article about being a social worker on Teesside to blogs and other sites.

Alongside promoting the jobs, the site and the public sector in general your skills and knowledge may be called on for guidance by the organisations using the platform. This could include tasks such as providing coaching and support to recruitment teams in copywriting and you should feel comfortable interacting with people at a range of levels.

You will join a small, effective and highly motivated team in operating and growing the single biggest public sector jobs platform in the North East of England.

Are you ready for that challenge?

The team behind North East Jobs work in a hybrid manner as part of North East Regional Employers Organisation (NEREO). The majority of duties are carried out remotely with occasional trips to the offices at the Guildhall in Newcastle where relevant.

Flexibility of work time is also a key part of the teams manner of operation with a focus on outputs rather than inputs. We are all highly self-motivated and the role will suit someone who can spot a challenge and put in the plans and work to achieve the goals.

NEREO sit at a quite unique cross point for the Local Authorities and other public sector bodies in the North East and there are plenty of options to interact with a wide section of the staff in these organisations.
