Salary - £28221 per annum (pay award pending) plus £1239 essential car user allowance for first year of employment

Sunderland is offering a salary of £28221(pay award pending), plus £1239 essential car user allowance for first year of employment, then rising to £29055 (pay award pending), plus £1239 per annum essential car user allowance and 2% recruitment and retention allowance after success completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). We also have a commitment to staff:

• Work in small teams made up of a Team Manager, an Assistant Team Manager and no more than 7 social workers;
• Have a commitment to maintain manageable caseloads;
• Provide laptops and mobile phones to every social worker to make mobile and flexible working easier;
• Have introduced a career progression scheme which is underpinned by a professional learning and development plan;
• High quality supervision, which is reflective.

Sunderland Children’s Social Care has the following structure:
A central Integrated Contact and Referral Team made up of social care, police and health professionals
4 Assessment Teams who undertake Single Assessments and Child Protection Investigations.
13 Safeguarding Teams based in 5 localities (Central 1 to 4, West 1 to 3, North 1 and 2, Coalfields 1and 2, Washington 1 and 2) responsible for Child in Need, Child Protection and Children Looked After
2 city wide Permanence Teams responsible for Children Looked After
2 city wide Next Steps Team responsible for care leavers
1 city wide Adoption Team and 1 city wide Fostering Team.
You will need to hold or be studying towards a BA/MA / Dip SW due to qualify in Easter 2019 to apply and once qualified you will need to register with HCPC.
