Walkergate Community School is now part of Newcastle East mixed multi Academy Trust and we were recently awarded teaching school status.
Our school motto is together we make a difference. At Walkergate Community School we are lucky enough to have a passionate workforce who all care for and respect the fantastic children of our school. We are dedicated to school improvement and we all aim to provide a happy, safe and fun school environment for the children and our staff too.

The Governors of Walkergate Community School wish to appoint a nursery nurse for an immediate start at our early years site on Shields Road. This is an exciting role to lead our small group of 2 year olds within our pre-nursery during the morning and supporting across the early years in the afternoon.

For all positions, if required by the needs of the school you must be prepared to train and act as a First Aider within the school. There is also the opportunity of supporting our extensive out of hour’s timetable.

If you have a full and relevant qualification as listed on the Department for Education website for early years, we look forward to receiving your application. Selection will be by interview and short observation.

Application forms are only available via the schools website at www.walkergate.newcastle.sch.uk under the jobs heading. Please return a hard copy of your application to our Primary school site at the above address.

Closing date for all jobs is 4.00pm on Thursday 25 October 2018. Interviews and observations will take place W/C 12 November 2018. If you have not been contacted by end of day on 9 November 2018, please assume you have been unsuccessful. All appointments are subject to references and successful DBS checks.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.

This job is closed for applications.
