Fixed Term for 2 years.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, OREsome North Pennines will focus on 8 key Heritage At Risk sites. Working closely with local volunteers, we will record features of botanical, archaeological and geological significance at these locations, pulling this information together into individual site management plans for the first time.

This project aims to ensure that the significance of these sites is recognised and recorded; that the information is made accessible and that the condition of the sites is monitored by local volunteers in the future.

This project builds on the earlier successes of Altogether Archaeology North Pennines which saw over 500 local volunteers working together reveal the secrets of the landscape for themselves.

Working closely with professional archaeologists, ecologists and geologists, the Project Officer will be responsible for managing the project and ensuring that all necessary data is captured and recorded appropriately.

If you are an experienced project manager, have the relevant skills and are passionate about the uplands and would like to contribute towards the conservation and enhancement of the natural beauty of the North Pennines, then this could be the role for you.

Candidates should hold a degree or equivalent in archaeology, earth science, conservation or a related subject.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake and pass a DCC driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.

Interviews are scheduled to be held on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th May 2016.
