Richard Coates is a wonderful place to work. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Out of School Club Manager with experience of working with primary aged children, to join us in September 2017, with a passion for working with children and the commitment to working as part of a team to provide high quality care for children.
From September 2017 we will be welcoming children into our Nursery and Reception classes, as well as pupils into Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. In addition we will be opening our Out of School Club. We will continue to provide education for 3 – 13 year olds until a new secondary school opens in Ponteland in September 2019. At this point we will move sites and operate as a 3 – 11 primary school.

Our Out of School Club provision will be open daily during term time from 7.30 – 8.45am providing structured activities and breakfast, and from 3.15 - 6.00pm providing structured activities and a snack. You would be expected to be in school 15 minutes before and after sessions to setup and clear up and an additional 2.5 hours per week preparation time will be available. During school holidays the provision would be open daily from 7.30am to 6.00pm with the Manager working morning/early afternoon.
You will supervise other staff working in the Out of School Club.
It is envisaged that the provision would be closed for two weeks over Christmas and two weeks during the summer holidays for which you would be deemed to be taking holidays. The remainder of your holiday entitlement would be agreed with the Headteacher.
The pupils’ behaviour is exemplary (Ofsted 2013) and the staff are a dedicated team of professionals who work closely and supportively with each other. The school is a large middle school of 480 pupils located in Ponteland on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne and has excellent public transport links, yet it enjoys the countryside benefits of being located within the picturesque county of rural Northumberland.
