St Thomas More Catholic School is looking to appoint a computer science teacher with the passion and expertise to join this expanding, successful department. You will be expected to be able to teach a range of computer science and ICT courses at KS3, KS4 and KS5. This includes delivering the first wave of T Levels in the Digital Support Services Pathway. We expect the successful candidate to be able to teach code. You will have high expectations of our students and be able to enthuse and motivate them with your passion for the subject and creative teaching, presence and personality.

We have a long tradition for both the academic success of our pupils, and the outstanding behaviour that our pupils routinely demonstrate. At GCSE we continue to see the impact of our work with just under half of Year 11 achieving grade 5 or above in both Mathematics and English, and just under three quarters securing a grade 4 in both subjects. This is reflective of the proportion of curriculum time allocated to these two subjects. We are pleased to see an increase in EBacc attainment and delighted that pupils continue to thrive in their open subjects. Pupils achieved highly in a range of subjects including Religious Studies, Science, Drama, Art, Physical Education and Child Development.
Key Stage 5 results continue to demonstrate the success of our curriculum - ensuring that all pupils have a pathway to further education, employment or training. Our average A Level grade continues to be high, currently sitting at B-, with 100% pass rate across our suite of A Level Qualifications. We continue to do exceptionally well with Applied General Qualifications with our average as a Distinction* and again 100% pass rate. The very large majority of UCAS progression was successful, with a good proportion of pupils moving on to Russell Group Universities.

Head Teacher: Mr J Parkinson
