If you are an experienced communicator and are looking for a challenge with a forward thinking and innovative Council, Gateshead Council has a fantastic opportunity for you.
We need a Communication and Marketing specialist to join our team as soon as possible - to help us take forward our health and wellbeing agenda, whilst also supporting our response to COVID-19 and our local outbreak control plan work. You’ll help promote, develop and co-ordinate our public health and wellbeing messaging, whilst supporting the delivery of our health and wellbeing strategy.
It’s both an exciting and challenging time to be joining the Council as we look to respond to the impact of COVID-19 on the borough. We have a route-map towards recovery from the pandemic and would like you to play a part in our response to this.
Working directly to the Director of Public Health and Wellbeing and alongside our corporate communication team, this role offers you the chance to demonstrate your skills and experience in communications and marketing, using a variety of digital and traditional media channels, to produce clear focussed communications informed by customer insight.
You should hold an appropriate degree and hold or be working towards a recognised equivalent communication qualification e.g. CIM, CAM, CIPR.
You should be a competent project manager of strategic marketing/PR campaigns with experience in managing complex communication issues and finding solutions to tight deadlines and budgets, whilst providing good customer service and evaluating outcomes.
This is a fixed term, 12 month contract.
