This is an exciting time for Sunderland College as it expands to include Northumberland College and Hartlepool Sixth Form and the group builds its reputation locally, regionally and nationally. You will join an already existing and expanding communications team to achieve our organisational B2B and B2C communications.

As PR and Communications Officer you will play a pivotal role in coordinating external PR activity and delivering exceptional communications through a wide variety of channels.? You will support the whole College Group to build our reputation through engaging, timely and relevant communications to both internal and external audiences.

You’re passionate and enthusiastic, with a proven track record of planning and delivering PR and communications campaigns using a range of channels and tactics. You will have the ability to research messages from a variety of different sources and align this to the College’s strategic objectives and brand positioning.

Due to the nature of the post, it is imperative that you have excellent writing skills, in particular the ability to understand complex issues and turn them into clear and engaging content for on and offline platforms. You should also have excellent digital skills and able to write for a wide variety of audiences and communication channels.

You will be comfortable advising and supporting internal stakeholders.? Good planning and organisation skills are essential, coupled with the ability to problem solve effectively.

You should be able to demonstrate, in your personal statement, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification.

Due to the nature of this post you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
