The Service
Northumberland County Council is a progressive local authority supported by an experienced and talented Legal Services team with high standards in the provision of timely, accurate and quality legal advice. The successful apprentice will work alongside experienced staff undertaking a range of duties from providing advice to drafting in the following areas of work; civil and criminal litigation, contracts, conveyancing, children’s social care, adult social care, licensing, planning and highways.

The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Legal Services Team for an apprentice. Although applicants do not need to have any prior experience, they must be willing to undertake duties to gain experience in Legal Services supported with offsite training.

The ability to talk to customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

This opportunity provides experience to work whilst you learn and develop key skills that will be valuable throughout your career. Your responsibilities as an Apprentice include:

-Act as a point of contact on cases

-Provide support to lawyers

-Treat all information about the County Council and any external clients as confidential

Our Apprenticeships are structured training programmes which give you the opportunity to gain on the job experience whilst working towards a recognised apprenticeship standard. They help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your chosen industry.

Essential requirements:
-GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/c or equivalent)
-Must be willing to attend training with Damar Training
