Further Information
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you’ll help us meet our young peoples’ emotional needs. Our young people have challenging complex emotional and behavioral needs and need more support than most. You’ll make sure they get it by applying high standards of care. It means working with families and developing programmes for each individual young person. With careful assessment and planning, you’ll create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive.

You already have experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting. So you understand their developmental needs and what pastoral care entails. A good listener who can motivate and work in a team, you inspire young people to achieve. Flexibility and good organizational skills mean you’ll be an asset to the Witherslack Group.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our aspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Like all Witherslack Group schools, Ashbrooke School offers state-of-the-art learning resources and well equipped environments. The school is housed in the Former Sunderland High Primary School building, a purpose built property with great facilities including a full size sports hall, separate school hall, MUGA etc.

Reward

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll receive a competitive salary, full school holidays, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax-free childcare vouchers. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Hazel Pepper – Senior Administrator on 0191 6075610.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community
