St Thomas More Catholic School is seeking to appoint an experienced and effective Pastoral Support and LAC (Looked After Children) Coordinator to support in maintaining high standards of behaviour, look after the welfare of students and support students in developing excellent learning habits.

The successful candidate will establish positive relationships with students, parents, carers, staff and outside agencies in line with the school's vision and values. You will need strength of character and determination, the ability to multi-task under pressure, and the skills and attributes to deal with vulnerable pupils.


The Pastoral Support and LAC Coordinator will work with the school's pastoral team including the Deputy Head Teacher, Assistant Head Teacher, Heads of House and the Attendance and Welfare Officer in order to promote the positive behaviour of pupils and ensure that behaviour and pastoral related policies are effectively implemented.


The Pastoral Support and LAC Coordinator will manage the school's internal exclusion unit, monitor lateness and will assist and become familiar with the LAC designated person role. You will also carry out supervision duties as part of the school pastoral team before school, after school, break times and lunchtimes in order to manage the behaviour of pupils during these more unstructured times of the school day.
It is essential that candidates have experience working with pupils who have behaviours that are challenging.
