Our Children and Families Service in South Tyneside are entering an exciting period in the development of the service we offer our most vulnerable families.

Having been graded as Good by Ofsted we are determined to push the service to the next level and improve things further to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. To do this we need the best professionals, who are motivated and determined to drive an already successful and effective service further. As a result of South Tyneside’s drive to improve we are increasing capacity and develop our staff team, that is already “stable, well supported and provides the right conditions for social work to flourish”.

As the Practice Manager you will be responsible for and manage the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the Disabled Children and Young Adults Team, providing services for disabled children and young people up to the age of 18 and their families, in accordance with national standards and guidance and departmental policies and procedures. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the social care element of the Children and Families Act special educational needs agenda. You will also be jointly responsible with the Team Manager of the Adult Learning Disability Team for ensuring that the Children and Adults Disability Service provides a seamless service to disabled young people as they become adults.
