Newcastle City Council are recruiting five Pre Apprentice’s in Childcare.
The pre apprenticeship will last for between 12 weeks and 6 months, paid at National Minimum Wage according to age.
The nurseries are located across the city and provides great public transport links and road access.
The current locations are:
Castle Nurseries at Willow Avenue
Greenway, Fenham, NE4 9TU
Castle Nurseries at Shieldfield
Clarence Walk, Shieldfield, NE2 1AD
Castle Nurseries at Montagu
Houghton Avenue, Cowgate, NE5 3UT
Castle Nurseries at Rye Hill
Colby Court, NE4 6HL
Castle Nurseries at Dunstanburgh Road
1 Bywell Street, Walker, NE6 2QN
We give priority to the employability and skills needs of young people aged under 25 because they have a higher unemployment rate than over 25’s, particularly 16-18 year olds Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). We are keen that all sections of the community, including Looked After Children, disadvantaged communities within Newcastle upon Tyne such as those parts of the City with low Index of Multiple Depravation (IMD) scores, have the same opportunities in life as other people.
