Northumberland County Council is seeking to recruit to the post of 2 prison library assistants to join our dedicated team providing a library service within HMP Northumberland. We are looking for people with have a knowledge & enthusiasm for reading & books and a working knowledge of library procedures. Good IT skills are essential and a knowledge of library management systems are desirable. Strong communication skills and an ability to work in a team are essential
The job involves Saturday & evening working shifts & the work can be physically demanding.
You will be working in a challenging but rewarding environment and supporting the Prison Librarian to deliver a first class service supporting learning and skills and the rehabilitation agenda within the prison community.
