If you are an experienced and ambitious professional with a high degree of technical and analytical skills and experience of working with high impact services, then there has never been a better time to join Together for Children, a unique company with a focus on driving improvement for children and families in Sunderland.

The company is seeking an experienced Programme Lead with excellent programme and project management skills who will be instrumental in delivering two exciting data initiatives (Lifestart & the Purple Book) on behalf of partners nationally and across Sunderland and South Tyneside.

Sunderland and South Tyneside have been successful in obtaining funding to create an innovative data platform across agencies, with a focus on children and young people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND). The platform ‘Lifestart’ aims to support a culture of data sharing and will aid improved decision making and commissioning with the ambition of improving education, health and social outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

In addition to the Lifestart initiative, Microsoft, NHS England, NHSX, and the Department for Education have formed a partnership to progress the development of an app that also functions as a shared record for children and young people with SEND in Sunderland. The ‘Purple Book’ will provide one single, parent controlled electronic record in which all information about the child will be held. This presents an excellent opportunity to work with families to provide an innovative digital solution that meets the needs of children and young people with SEND.

To qualify for this exciting position, you will have experience of working within a programme or project manager role, where you have gained hands-on experience of delivering customer focused initiatives and projects. You will have proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with partners to deliver shared objectives, impacts and benefits.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills to lead on the development and implementation of the two initiatives and will have extensive experience of applying project management principles and processes to ensure their successful delivery.

You will also have excellent communication and planning skills, enjoy challenging situations and be able to create a positive working atmosphere. Above all, you must have energy and enthusiasm and be able to add demonstrable value.
