Further Information
The North East Combined Authority’s purpose is to champion the full potential of our region. Collaborating with our partners and local authorities, we’ll create a better way of life by connecting communities, giving people the skills to succeed, and improving wellbeing for all, so that the North East is recognised as an outstanding place to live, work, visit and invest.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to who can enable us to deliver on our ambitions for the North East, by managing the programme to prepare for the introduction of the integrated settlement in 2026. We are an “Established Mayoral Strategic Authority”, as defined by the Government’s White Paper on English Devolution. Consequently, we will be one of a few places in England with access to the integrated settlement, which will mean that we have greater freedoms and flexibilities to make decisions about how investments are made locally.
Once the integrated settlement is in place, the successful candidate would then become part of a new pool of programme managers, deployed to work on other exciting and valuable projects to deliver for the Mayor and Combined Authority. As such, despite the integrated settlement introduction being a time-limited project, the successful candidate would be offered permanent employment.
In return for your valuable contribution, you will have access to an excellent benefits package:
- Generous leave entitlement, starting at 27 days, plus an additional day off for your birthday rising to 32 days after 5 years continuous service, plus 8 bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time staff) with the option to buy additional leave
- Flexible working practices including working from other locations and from home.
- A generous employer contribution pension scheme.
- A range of salary sacrifice schemes.
- Commitment to staff development and continuous learning.
- Progression and career enhancement opportunities.
If you have the skills and qualities to succeed in this role and are committed to delivering the combined authority’s vision and values, we look forward to hearing from you.
