Further Information
Join us as a Programme Officer (Transport Policy and Strategy)

As a Programme Officer within our Transport Policy and Strategy team, you will play a vital role in coordinating programmes, projects, and funding streams that support the North East Combined Authority’s strategic ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to work that directly shapes the region’s transport priorities, ensuring our programmes are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in line with our corporate objectives. You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team committed to improving outcomes for communities across the North East.

In this role, you will support the planning, organisation, and management of a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects, helping to develop robust processes and procedures that strengthen performance and ensure the best use of resources. You will coordinate regular progress reviews, support evaluation activities, and produce clear, accurate management information to aid decision-making. Your involvement will also include organising stakeholder events and engagement activity, contributing to effective communication and collaboration with partners across the region and beyond.

We are looking for someone who brings strong organisational skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to build productive working relationships. You will contribute to financial monitoring, undertake analytical or statistical work where required, and support the delivery of specific project tasks that help drive our transport strategy forward. If you thrive in a multifaceted role and are motivated by the chance to make a positive impact on regional transport outcomes, we would love to hear from you.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in senior roles, including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
