We’re Hiring: 2 Programme Officers to support the Bus Service Improvement Plan
Salary:
Are you passionate about sustainable transport, community engagement, and making a real difference in people’s everyday lives? We’re looking for two enthusiastic and driven Programme Officers to support the delivery of our Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), helping to transform how people across the North East travel by bus.
About the Role:
As a Programme Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery, promotion and monitoring of existing BSIP projects aimed at improving the region’s bus network. Working closely with local communities, educational establishments, employers and stakeholders, you’ll help raise awareness, drive engagement, and encourage more people to use bus services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery and monitoring of BSIP projects across the North East.
- Promote improved bus services and support campaigns to increase ridership.
- Engage with residents, schools, colleges, community groups and employers to promote bus use.
- Tackle negative perceptions of bus travel and work to improve the public’s experience.
- Identify and support improvements in safety, accessibility, and customer experience.
- Collect feedback and insights to inform ongoing service enhancements.
About You:
We’re looking for proactive individuals with strong communication and organisational skills who are confident engaging with a wide range of people. You’ll have a passion for public transport and sustainable travel, and ideally some experience in project delivery, stakeholder engagement or community outreach.
