PROJECT OFFICER Contract Type: Fixed Term – 3 years Working Pattern: Full time (job share will be considered) Hours per week: 37 Salary: LSP 26 – 29 (£23,166 – £25,694) Can you build a career in engaging with the voluntary and cultural sector while learning how to manage a medium sized town council? Berwick Town Council requires an outgoing, self starting individual with at least one year's post education work experience to undertake the role of Project Officer. The ideal candidate will be career minded and the post includes the possibility to progress, on completion of an agreed training programme, to the role of Deputy Town Clerk with administrative responsibilities within the organisation. The candidate is likely to be educated to degree level or equivalent, and to have either voluntary or paid experience of working with the Voluntary and Community sector and grant awarding bodies. Enabling Town Council supported projects to access funding and deliver their programmes for the people of Berwick will be at the core of this role. As Berwick is a town with significant heritage assets and a lively programme of events, experience of the challenges of supporting and planning events will also be an asset to the candidate. Berwick Town Council is a medium sized town council; the successful candidate will report directly to the Town Clerk and work collaboratively with a team of five individuals, while possessing the skills and qualities necessary to enable them to communicate effectively with our sixteen volunteer councillors and wide range of other partners. Although Berwick is a small town, the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate that they can attend meetings at various locations around the town, some of which take place outside normal office hours. As an Equal Opportunities Employer the council will make all reasonable adjustments to accommodate out of work responsibilities, but some evening work will be essential. The job description and person specification for the post along with an application form can be obtained from Supporting documents above. References will be required one of which must be the candidate’s current or last employer. The closing date for applications is 12noon on Monday 19th of February 2018 Interviews: Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th and Friday 9th of March 2018 Start Date: Tuesday 3rd April 2018
