An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Health Practitioner to join the public health team in South Tyneside. The public health team is committed to delivering improvements in health outcomes and reducing health inequalities for people of South Tyneside.

The post holder will:

• Make a significant difference to the health and wellbeing of people in South Tyneside.
• Lead a range of public health programmes and provide evidenced-based public health advice, expertise and support to partners and stakeholders.

This post holder will support and help develop programmes and initiatives that will deliver outcomes around the South Tyneside Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Director of Public Health report and the public health work plan.

Specifically this will include oral health, domestic abuse, looked after children, care leavers, sexual health, teenage pregnancy and stop smoking in pregnancy.

You will need a good level of knowledge and skills about health inequalities and health improvement as well as being motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about making a difference in South Tyneside.
