Further Information
Our Emergency Duty team provides a crisis intervention type response to requests for support that come to the Council outside of office hours. This provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced progressed worker with experience in childrens and adults social care to lead this work operationally and help with our strategic development of the service.

You will cover shifts, on a rota basis with colleagues, from 5pm (4.30 pm Fridays) to 12 pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 12pm Saturday and Sunday and bank holidays. You will be based at an office with other colleagues covering elements of crisis response but will be expected to triage, assess and risk assess calls coming through to provide the appropriate response which could include accessing provision of support, liaising with family and friends to support the person in the short term or deciding that no immediate action is required. The period between 12pm and 8 am will be covered from the employees own home on an on–call basis.

You will be expected to assess and risk assess the calls coming through Care Call for social care intervention with a view to ensuring that the situation is kept safe until the next available working day. This will include providing advice, information and signposting, negotiating with informal forms of support to provide support and co-ordinating and accessing resources. You will provide a service to all age groups. Whilst there is an office base, there is a requirement to travel across the borough ( and occasionally outside the borough to neighbouring authority areas) to complete appropriate assessment.

Managers are available on call to provide professional and managerial support.
