This is an exciting opportunity to implement and lead the Regional Adoption Agency ADOPT North East, a collaboration between North Tyneside, Newcastle, Northumberland, Gateshead and South Tyneside to provide excellence in adoption. These authorities wish to build on the success of their existing services to improve performance in meeting the needs of those children who require permanence through adoption, by bringing together the best practice from each of these authorities. ADOPT North East will strive to ensure that all children who need to be placed for adoption are placed in a timely way in high quality, successful, life-long adoptive placements which meet all of their needs and that adopted children and families receive the support they need for as long as they need it.

ADOPT North East will be a Regional Adoption Agency, hosted by North Tyneside Council. This is an opportunity to join an OFSTED rated GOOD Local Authority, who are engaged in Partners in Practice. As the Senior Manager you will be supported to develop the best practice for all affected by adoption.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced manager able to demonstrate that they can deliver excellence. You will be able to communicate effectively, manage large budgets and ensure performance is monitored and sustained.

This post is politically restricted within the terms of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989

The post-holder will be responsible to the Director of Children’s Services and will work closely with senior colleagues across the 5 Local Authorities that form Adopt North East to ensure best practice developments continue within Adopt North East.
