A partner primary school to First Class Supply, based in south east Northumberland, are currently looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work within a Reception class. The position is to commence as soon as possible for the duration of the term on a full time basis, with the possibility of the position extending until the end of the academic year.
This is a very large primary school which is fortunate to benefit from a modern building and facilities, and which has converted to academy status within the last couple of years. Leadership and provision in the early years is a strength of the school’s work. Pupils in this school are well-mannered and polite. Leaders have prioritised well-thought-through approaches to developing emotional well-being for pupils.
To be successful in this role you must:
- be creative, supportive, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated
- have the confidence and skills to plan for, work with and assess the progress of pupils –under the direction of the class teacher
- hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare or education
- be experienced in approaches to successfully supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties and those requiring additional support
- have recent experience/knowledge of working within a Reception setting within the UK National Curriculum.
